Cruz XD 50 review
Murray Cruz XD 50 in brief
The Cruz XD 50 is the larger Murray zero-turn, with a 50-inch cutting width, a 22 gross hp V-twin and Hydro-Gear ZT-2200 drive. Home Depot lists it as MYZ5022000 at $3,349, checked in October 2026, and Murray says it is sold exclusively there. This Murray Cruz XD 50 review is built from those two pages.
V-twin engine
Murray names a Briggs and Stratton EXi2200 series V-twin, 724 cc and 22 gross hp, with electric start. It is a larger and more powerful engine than the 19 hp, 540 cc unit in the Cruz 42, though Murray gives no output or torque comparison.
Drive and speed
Two Hydro-Gear ZT-2200 transaxles power the rear wheels, with speeds up to 7 mph. Murray does not publish a reverse speed or transmission service interval.
The control scheme is the usual twin-lever zero-turn setup. The page gives no reverse speed.
Deck and tires
Murray’s spec table calls the deck a stamped 52-inch, 13-gauge steel piece, while the cutting width is listed as 50 inches; Murray does not explain the difference. Seven cutting heights are offered, and the page does not state the blade count.
Tires are 11×6.00-5 front and 20×10.00-10 rear. The tank holds 3 gallons, and Murray says that is good for up to 3.5 acres per tank.
Warranty and fit
Coverage is 3 years limited. Weight is not listed by Murray or Home Depot.
Choose the XD 50 over the Cruz 42 if your lot is closer to three acres and you want a V-twin and the wider deck. It is a value machine, not a commercial one, so heavy daily use is outside its intended scope. Compare it with the Cruz 42 on price per inch of deck before choosing, and ask about delivery and assembly, since a mower this size usually ships partly assembled.
