Stander X review
Wright Stander X overview
The Stander X is Wright’s mid-sized commercial stand-on, available with a 48 or 52-inch deck. Wright lists both with a Kawasaki FX730E engine. This Wright Stander X review uses Wright’s product page and pocket guide, which labels it the second generation.
We could not read Wright’s price PDF. A dealer listed the 52-inch WSTX52SFX730E2B at $11,499, but that listing was also marked sold out and is not treated as list price.
Engine and speed
Wright’s pocket guide gives the Kawasaki FX730E as 23.5 hp, while the product page text says 23 hp, a small discrepancy. Displacement is not published. Speed is 9.5 mph forward and 5.5 mph in reverse.
A Hydro-Gear 12 cc pump with fans supplies Parker 16 cubic-inch wheel motors.
Deck
The Aero-Core deck is 7-gauge steel with three blades, 16.5 inches long on the 48-inch deck and 18 inches on the 52-inch. Cutting height runs from 1.5 to 5.5 inches and spindles are ductile iron. Wright rates productivity at 4.61 and 4.99 acres an hour.
Split steel pulleys and a dual-stage air filter that comes off without tools are listed.
Size and comfort
Wright lists weights of 900 lb for the 48-inch and 920 lb for the 52-inch, with overall lengths of 65 and 66 inches. The 8-gallon fuel tank is a puncture-resistant, triple-layer unit bolted to the frame. A suspension platform with elastomer springs needs no lubrication.
Casters are 13×5-6. The rear tire is listed as 20×10-8 in one table, while the spec sheet gives a 24-inch diameter, so confirm the real size with a dealer.
Warranty and fit
Wright’s warranty is 2 years unlimited hours or 5 years and 500 hours, whichever comes first, with engines covered by their maker. The Stander X suits crews who need a narrower stand-on for gates and residential commercial work, and who do not need ZK speeds.
