X350 review
Our take on the John Deere X350
The John Deere X350 is the entry point to the X300 Select Series. It sits a step above the S-series tractors. You get a Kawasaki V-twin, Twin Touch pedals and a 4-year or 300-hour warranty. Deere says the X300 line suits yards up to 3.5 acres with varied terrain.
Engine and drive
The engine is a 21.5 hp Kawasaki FR651V V-twin. It is air-cooled and has cast-iron cylinder liners. Oil drains without tools and the filter is replaceable.
Power goes through a Tuff Torq K46 hydrostatic transaxle. Twin Touch pedals control forward and reverse. Speed is 0 to 5.5 mph forward and 0 to 4 mph in reverse. A cruise control button sits on the dash.
Deck and handling
The X350 comes with a 42-inch or 48-inch Accel Deep deck. The 42-inch version weighs 543 lb. The 48-inch version weighs 607 lb. The deck has Exact Adjust ports and an onboard leveling gauge.
Tires are 15×6-6 in front and 20×10-8 in back. The turning radius is 16 inches. The uncut circle is about 26 inches. If you need tighter trimming, see our X354 review for the four-wheel-steer version.
Comfort and storage
The seat has a 15-inch back and tilts on two coil springs. You can set three weight positions without tools. Storage sits under the seat and in a covered toolbox. The fuel tank holds 3.3 gallons, which is bigger than any S-series tank.
Attachments and limits
Towing is rated at 600 lb. A rear weight bracket is standard. A front weight bracket is optional. MulchControl is an optional add-on.
The X350 has two-wheel steering only. It costs about $1,000 less than the X354 with the same deck size.
Who should buy it
Buy the X350 if you want a longer warranty and a better build than the S-series. It suits two to three acres with some slopes.
