TS 146 review

Our take on the Husqvarna TS 146

The Husqvarna TS 146 is the entry point to the Husqvarna 100 Series tractors. It has a 22 hp Briggs & Stratton EXi V-twin and a 46-inch stamped deck. Drive is a pedal-operated Tuff Torq hydrostatic. Most people searching for a Husqvarna TS 146 review are comparing it with the TS 148X. The TS 148X adds more power and a wider deck.

Engine and drive

The engine displaces 44 cubic inches and has an oil filter. The transmission is a K46 Tuff Torq hydrostatic with pedal control. Top speed is 5.2 mph forward and 2.2 mph in reverse. Tires are 15×6-6 in front and 20×10-8 in back. That rear size is wider than the 20×8-8 tires on the older YTH22V46.

Deck

The 46-inch stamped deck has two blades and uses Air Induction airflow to lift the grass. Cutting height runs from about 1.5 to 4 inches. There are two anti-scalp wheels and no nose roller. The fuel tank holds 3 gallons. Husqvarna builds the deck from reinforced steel.

Limits to know about

The Husqvarna spec table we checked does not list weight or turning radius. The maximum cutting height is 4 inches. There is no nose roller to protect the deck edge. Check Husqvarna’s accessory fit-up chart before you buy a bagger or mulch kit.

Who should buy it

Buy the TS 146 if you want a simple, lower-priced tractor with wide rear tires and a 3-year consumer warranty. Choose the TS 148X for 24 hp, a 48-inch deck and a tube bumper.
